Members of LUMCON’s education and outreach staff were on hand at two local events on Saturday, October 20th. Educators Murt Conover and Nikki Boucher attended the LUMCON booth at the Cajun Fly-Over on the Houma Airbase. Conover and Boucher’s booth featured coloring pages, a video presentation and a very large inflatable orca!
Coleman teaches festival goers about coastal wildlife as a young patron shows off a turtle shell
Meanwhile, nine miles away in Chauvin, outreach and publicity staff members Brandon Coleman and Holly Hebert challenged festival goers to guess what animal the various bones and pelts displayed used to belong to, and offered younger patrons the opportunity to make a door-hanger craft.
LUMCON is pleased to have had the opportunity to participate in each event and “pass a good time” with members of the local community.
