    Julie joined the lab in October 2003. After completing an MS thesis investigating snapper predation on mantis shrimp at the University of South Alabama, she has decided to undertake an examination of the sensory biology of burrowing ghost shrimp. We will combine our knowledge of chemical transport in the burrows and through the sediment matrix with an examination of ghost shrimp behavior and sensory physiology.

    Dean is currently serving as the lab technician. As all lab personnel, Dean is an integral part of the lab learning environment. In addition to his research duties, he leads Bayouside Classroom groups and maintains the website, he participates and leads lab discussions on journal articles, and he participates in student research.
